65' Mustang 200 cylinder head removal. Unable to loosen from block. Any suggestions how to free it up?

Put a wooden stick (hammer handle) in one of the exhaust ports and pull up on it. The head is stuck to the head gasket and the head gasket is stuck to the block.

Assuming you have all (14?) of the head bolts out make sure you've also got the exhaust pipe unhooked and the power steering bracket unbolted from the thermostat housing if you have ps.

I like the wood handle idea. I'm going to have to remember that.

Thanks. Everything is removed. I haven't tried the stick in the port, but definately will try this tomorrow. I have used a block of wood and hammer to
try and free up the head with no luck.

It’s a little more involved than the wood handle idea, but assuming the motor is still in the car, hook an engine hoist to the head bolts and lift away. I guarantee that head comes off.
