How rare is a 64.5 D code, There are 3 for sale here 1 coupe, 2 verts. 1 with bench seat and 3 sp on column. Any ideas? All need work.

3 spd on the column?

not particularly rare, the F code 260 was the most common followed by the D code then followed by the U code 6 cyl... and then of course the most rare would be the K code.

mustang production guide shows that from their sampling, D code production was around 35% which is probably a good estimate
That's what the guy tells me, all 3 come with (supposedly) original engine, transmission, generator and bench seat on one.
I second that: 3 spd on the column?
Even with the bench seat I was not aware that the Mustang came with a 3 on the tree. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif fd
I've never seen one come that way from the factory but I have heard that some people converted them using the column from a Falcon. Anything is possible. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif
If one of the verts is a bench seat with the original door tag to prove it, I would think that would be a pretty rare combo.

no 64.5 bench seats were made. first bench seat cars started showing up about the same time as pony interior... early March, 1965
