If you think talking to him on the phone is long, don't go to his house/shop...unless you plan to stay the day. That guy has some stories to tell.

Does he have a (functional) website or does he do all his business over the phone? I need some parts… do I need to budget an hour (or more?) for a phone call?

Phone or in person...either one will take some time. More than an hour...likely. After 12PM only for either.
