My Dang aftermarket GT exhaust tip on the P/S won't stay on! The outlet on the tailpipe is tapered too small for the tip, and the untapered part is too big. When I tighten the clamp down, it tends to squeeze the tip off of the tailpipe like satin off of skin! I am about to drill holes through the thing and bolt it to the exhaust!

Or possibly a small tack weld from a local muffler or welding shop or buddy with a welder.

Can you take it to a shop and have it welded on? May save you a lot of grief.

Maybe the muffler shop could expand the end of the tailpipe a bit for a closer fit.

I'd go with the weld.

Always weld exhaust.

As far as rules of thumb go, that is one of the few I actually follow faithfully

I am leery of welding near the gas tank. Actually, I am considering new GT exhaust from the h-pipe back.

So many people swear by welding exhaust, but I am partial to the clamping

Duct tape, no. Epoxy? Maybe.

Clamps are more of a temporary fix. When people decide on a permanent exhaust system, they usually have it welded. If it's done right, the risk of explosion from the gas tank is minimal. It really would take care of your problem, but if you want to try other things, I'm sure you can find something else that will work.
