discovered my starting problems. the battery was cutting out making the lights flicker and the motor to jump when trying to start. popped the voltage regulator out and had it tested and it was bad. went ahead and bought a new starter relay while i was at it because it had melted the + battery cable.

I kept getting my alternator light on. I took out the alternator and had it tested. It tested bad... replaced it and the alternator light came on! Checked all the wiring, no fix. Took it to a shop and they tested everything... alternator was fine, it was the "darn voltage regulator". I had ruled that out because it had been replaced a year earlier. The alternator tester at the parts place didn't work! So replaced the v/r and all was well. A week ago, the alternator light comes on! Check all connections, get a new v/r and put it in, light is off! This one had lasted about 8 mo. These were NAPA v/r s. Oh well, guess they aren't that expensive! Ugh, I feel your pain!
