I paintied my dash & steering column this weekend. I was wondering, should the dash and column have any type of clear coat over them? Even if it’s a flat clear coat, just to make it less susceptible to scratching? Obviously the spray cans arent baked on like the factory paint, and they scratch much easier.

Thanks

I'm not sure a spray can clear can be applied without altering the dash and column paint. The spray paint from the Mustang parts places is pretty good at scratch resistence, more so than Rustoleum!

If you've just sprayed it, let it dry a day or so before reassembling everything.

Hope that helps,
