One very cool advantage of building this '65 basket case for my son, is I get the chance to do things over on my '66. If I want to change something now on the '66, I can use the "cast off's" to put on the '65 (since the whole '66 is new).

So ... should I put an AOD into my '66 and then use my rebuilt C4 for the '65? My '66 is my daily driver, but I've been known to hammer it pretty good (like at every stop light *LOL*). Will the AOD hold up to my heavy foot and fast stop light gettaways, or should I stick with my C4 and get another C4 for the '65?

Keep the HP under 350 and the AOD will like you a lot more...*G*

If you don't plan any long distance cruising with the car, like to Knott's *G*, then just leave the C4 in it...

While I don't have a automatic, I do have a 5 speed. Shifting into 5th on the freeway is sweet. The nice
thing about overdrive is running a lower rear gear then you normally might. I have 3.55 and it just idles down the freeway. I'm considering 3.80 or 4.10, I still will have nice low freeway RPM.

A friend of mine happens to own the world's fastest stock bodied Supercoupe (at least according to the SC owner's assoc.). It makes over 600 hp, is his daily driver, get's drag raced on slicks, and runs an AOD. The trans isn't totally stock, but it has been dead reliable for him. I think it will handle a 289 fine. I can find out what the mods are he did if you are interested, just let me know.
