Hey, the mustang I am looking at is a 67 GTA fastback and thanks to everyone that helped with with the #'s matching thing and helped me find out there's no #'s matchings... So anyways, I was hoping for some more help because I only know a bit of stuff about mustangs and it's never the things I need to know, so how do you tell a GTA fastback from a GT, or a 2+2 fastback, and just a regular old fastback..?
Thanks!

The easiest way on a '67 or later is to contact Marti Auto works and get a report from him. He owns the database for the '67-'73 Mustangs (from Ford ... prior to '67 was trashed). For a small fee, he can tell you anything you need to know about the car:

BTW, all Fastacks are 2+2s, and all 2+2s are fastbacks ... it means the same thing.

A 67 GT(A) should have the following:

-C, A, K, or S code engine
-fog Lamps
-GT Stripes (duh :)
-GT Gas cap
-GT Emblems
-heavy duty suspension with larger diameter front sway bar, heavier springs and shocks
-power front disc brakes

Everything here can be faked. If you see the fog lamps spliced into the harness vs. having their own plug, I think that's a pretty obvious indication of a fake.

If you don't mind me asking, what condition is the car in and what is the seller asking? My 67 Fastback in #3 condition was a recent acquisition that I purchased at below the published price guide values. Ever since Gone in 60 Seconds came out, 67 Fastbacks seem to be in a demand though!

I didn't know they produced C code 67 GT's. Weird.
