disc brake conversion question

does anybody know if there are any other cars that are compatible with the mustang spindles. i want to do the granada conversion but i can't find any of them. is there any other ford besides the granada, monarch, comet, versailles, and the cougar that will work. the mid 70's thunderbird has the tie rods on the back side of the spindle. will they work or is the ball joint size different? also are there any other disc brake rear ends that will work besides the versailles? how about the continetals? i only have an 8" rear so buying a kit won't help much. any help appreciated. i know how to do the swap but i am trying to find other cars that i can find. thanks

You might want tro consider the Jim's mustang conversion kit. I have it on the front of my 65' FB and it works well. It is a Granda swap kit with spindles that are modified to accept the stock Mustang tie rods. The whole kit was like 500 bucks and it comes with rebuilt calipers, fresh rotors, lines, etc. In the long run you will save yourself a lot of time and money starting with nice fresh stuff instead of taking junk parts and rebuilding them etc. I kow the cost might be more then the cost of the used parts, but when you add the new lines, pads, turning the rotors, etc..you come out ahead with fresh goodies. Just my opinion...but a good way to get the single piston front conversion I think. I've done it and it works.

That sucks! It was a nicly done kit for a reasonable price. You have a bunch of other options, all at different price levels. You can get the SSBC kit from CJ Pony parts for a decent price usually, that is where I bought the one for my Convertable. You can also look at the Wildwood kit, the baer kit, the JMC kit from Total Control Products. There is also a kit from Trans Am Racing and the other day someone posted a kit that used Caddy calipers and also Master Power. There are so many kits to choose from now. Kory
