Got a few things to button up and Im wondering what the best sealant to use is.

teflon tape, anti-seize or sealant

1. Brass PCV nipple into cast carb:

2. Steel pipe plug into aluminum powder coated manifold:

3. Steel heater hose nipple into powder coated manifold.

What should I torque the water pump to? Some of the bolts go into the cast block and some of them go into the aluminum front cover.

My experience with water pumps has been that if they are not all the same, they leak.

A search shows that most people do not put sealant between the water pump and backing plate, they just use the supplied gasket. Is that correct?

Sealant is used around the water ports on the both sides of the gasket between the water pump and front cover. Is that correct?

If I was going to do the work, and assuming you are talking about all being THREADED connections then it'd be:

#1 Brass PCV nipple into cast (zinc) carb = Blue Threadlocker.
#2 Steel pipe plug, #3 Steel heater hose nipple = Fuel-safe pipe sealant with PTFE (teflon), brush-in-can type.
Water pump bolts (all) 12-18 lb/ft. Permatex Aviation Form-a-Gasket on both sides of the backplate gasket, both sides of the main gasket around the water ports, and on the threads of all the bolts.
