I have a question about turning or removing a distributor from a 351 Q code engine in my sons Mach I. My husband can't get is to budge for nothing. He wanted me to ask for any suggestions from you guys. My son just ordered a new distributor that they will be putting in sometime soon. Got any ideas???

Hi, try P B Blaster NAPA sels it spray it on let it soak if it still doesn't move then you could tap it with a piece of wood on the vacume advance. LIGHTLY don't kill it!!!! once it moves work it back and forth till it loosens up then you should be able to remove it. John

The bolt is loose and comes right out. It's not the hold down clamp. Must be rusted like you said. If the oil etc doesn't work what next?

Hi, if it doesn't come loose with the P B Blaster then it comes time for the block of wood put the wood against the vacume canister and tap the end of the block with a hammer it will move with a hammer and block of wood. John

I have a 351c that has been sitting in my barn for years. Distributor wont come out or even turn. I have sprayed WD 40 on many times, nothing. Finally i grabbed on to it with my Channel lock pliers and just started trying to twist it back and forth. It finally broke loose and i got it out.
