Hey guys--

Went to get the new motor tuned today, and it seems as if the old distributor is a little too worn out to be functioning properly, so it looks like I am going to have to upgrade to a new distributor sooner than I was planning. What all is needed to run one of the MSD "ready to run" distributors? What advantages/disadvantages are there between the "ready to run" and the ones that require an ignition box?

Thanks
Dave

right off the top of my head...

having the electronics built into the dist means heat can play more of a failure factor

on the other hand, most aftermarket dizzy's have easy to tune advance systems (from what I've read!)

Check out Performance Distributors D.U.I. I have had one for three years and I like the one wire hook-up, cleans the engine compartment, it includes a coil too. If you are interested, I will tell more about my experience.
