I finally bought a 67 fastback 2 weeks ago. Hooray!! The driver's side door data plate shows nothing right above the axle code. Right beside to the left of the W transmissiom code for a C-4 is a 0 or an o. All the codes I have looked at either go from 1 to 9 or A to L.
I do have the build sheet. Under axle it shows an L under space 8 and an o or 0 under space 9. The L does read out to a 2:83 posi-trac rear. I have read about jacking up the car and seeing which way the wheels turn. I did this, and wth the motor off, I turned the right side tire clockwise, (as if the car were turning going forward), and the left tire was moving clockwise also, as if the car was moving in reverse. If you have any ideas, please let me know. I greatly appreciate all the people who participate in this forum, it's a huge help. You will probably see more of my posts now, that I actually have a Mustang that runs!

If they turn opposite directions, then it's an open (not-traction lock).... perhaps I'll be humbly corrected tho.

Too lazy to interpret your description... but as posted before. If you are turning one wheel as if the car is moving forward and the other is turning like you are going in reverse then it is either open or broken. This test performed with the rear end jacked up of course.

Hi, my book lists the 0 or o as a open rear 3.10 ratio. It does not list an L for a rear in 67 at all. John
