It looks like the output seals on my 4spd toploader (68) is leaking. Do I have to pull the Tranny or can I replace the seals once I pull the driveshaft. Do I need any special tools ? Any help and or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Lenny

You can replace the rear seal without pulling the tail housing. As that the output shaft of the tranny will extend out beyond the seal about 3/8ths of an inch, you'll need some type of way of tapping the seal back in squarely, uniformly.... such as a 2X4 with a hole cut in it just big enough to clear the output shaft.

Thank you for the information. Is there another seal in farther and should I change that also? If so is that trouble? Thanks

The only other seal is on the input shaft, that would require pulling the trans. Just replace the output shaft seal as per previous answer, you should be OK
