I have a C4 recently rebuilt with alto red clutches and kevlar bands. I am not running a kickdown rod and am noticing occasional slight slippage in first gear when I get up in the 4-5K rpm range. Does the lever not only downshift but also add more pressure? I didn't put one back on since I have plenty of torque for round the town driving in any gear and I shift manually for racing.
Thanks,
Micah

No it should have no relationship with the slippage concern. Take the car back to the shop that did the work They should be able to adjust the band pressure to correct the concern if not something else is wrong with the trans Converter or clutches installed wrong even the valve body could have a burr keeping a spring from moving correctly .
