it’s aftermarket. I looked at how to align it so there is no gap but I couldn’t figure out how.

Pic for attention.

Well I'd say to align the trunk to the quarters as close as you can. Then adjust the rear extensions till they are close and then start bodywork from there. Thats all fiberglass except the quarters so don't be afraid to add or remove some as needed.

@derek2079 I can't offer advice, but I can tell you this: my steel trunk lid was aligned pretty well until I replaced the gasket. I marked the hinge alignment locations before removing it, and returned it to the same position, but the new material has more spring than the old, crushed, hardened material. Now it springs outward in the middle- no amount of hinge adjustment is going to fix spring!
