foamy engine brite works really well if the motor is hot when you spray it on. It will take some paint off though. Have you tried Simple Green and a parts cleaning brush (the ones that are like 1" round)?

I personally have found that Super Clean does a better job on engines then Simple Green. Just make sure you use it in a well ventilated area. I use it on the industrial equipment I work on every day. It's available at Pep Boys or Walmart. OZ.
Spray-nine works really great. Its all I ever use. Just spray it on and watch all the grease and dirt and other crap just run off. After a while you can hose it off and repeat as many times as you want.

Since my car is in pieces and I’m going to rebuild the 289, I need to get some ideas on how to “dress” the engine bay. I don’t want to end up with an abomination of blue, red, yellow, black and chrome - so pop your hoods!
I’ll get it started ;)
I have a 66 coupe with a 1979 302 2bbl in it.
It was rebuilt 15 years ago but only has about 10k miles on it since. It runs great, gets 19 mpg and uses no oil. If I was wise I'd leave it alone but there is no fun in that and I would like more get up and go. The car is a weekend cruiser...
I have encountered a small issue as of today, I normally check my lights before going out and I put on my hazards, they flash in the front, the hood scoop, the gauges but they aren't flashing in the taillights. When I step on the brake they go solid so obviously my brake lights are...
One of the things I’m looking to do on my next build is a distributor delete, like how modern cars don’t have a distributor like our cars did in the factory and they have ignition coils on every spark plug. So has anyone done this and have any insight or can anyone recommend any kits? For a 289!
