If one wishes to donate blood, and one is an O negative, the universal donor, where would one go to do that ? I've grown disgusted with the American Red Cross, and would like another option. LSG

Do you live near a military base? They take blood for the troops.

I'm O negative also and have also tired of the American Red Cross. They literally hound me to donate. The called me one time and set up an appt, I went to donate and I wasn't even eligible yet. Another time they called and told me about an upcoming blood drive, it was at my workplace...I told them yea, I work there, they told me I needed to make an appt., I told them I would walk in when I had time. They proceeded to argue with me. I'm 51 now and I go to the gym 5 days/wk, when I donate it screws up my workouts for a few days. I have probably averaged 3 times/yr for the last 25 yrs....I try to do my part...but getting harder the older I get.

I too would like to know of an alternative place to donate.
