Just what does that term mean? It is now on the new shirts and I have 2 on order. Do I want my daughter or myself wearing that out in public? I have seen the term used here referring to stupid moves and such. Maybe that is why it was put on the shirts we are buying?

Its also going to give the Cheby guys way to much fun. Hey look at that guy with the Mustang shirt, what a doofus! Says so right on his shirt! Sorry, but I didn't order any shirts. I have a hard enough time convincing people that I am not always a doofus without writing it on my shirt. Love the forum and all the people in it, just don't like the shirts.

I agree with you, I didn't want the doofus on the front of the shirt, either. And since I have long hair, you wouldn't see much of the design on the back either. *LOL* At least I still have the original shirt, which I wear proudly at the shows.

I love it when a plan comes together!

If anyone asks, it's listed on the shirt due to the fact that you are "certified" to award the most desirable "Doofus" award to those you may come into contact with who would seem to rate such a great thing.

To the rest of us in the know, it means that you, by virtue of this wonderful past time that we are all involved in, are undoubtedly qualified to own the award for some prior errors in judgement....lol

Dang! Just when I got used to being "strange", I became a "newbie", then a "tire-kicker". Now I'm a "beginner"?.....hmmmmmm...where do I start?

I read the explanation Bob (our esteemed forum host) and others have written, pro and con, regarding the new shirts, but I'm not buying for the same reason a lot of others objected. I have two of the original shirts Mike Neilson had made for us, but I don't like the association on the new version between the VMF and what "doofus" implies. Don't get me wrong, I've claimed the doofus award on a few occasions and probably could lay claim to it every week for one reason or another, but I don't plan to promote the notion that the VMF is about being a doofus. This is a great forum and the doofus reference on the shirt detracts from it, IMHO.

I agree with Laurie. I'll wear the original shirt proudly, but not the latest version.
