Hi I just received a new set of door panels from NPD, my car didn't have any orignially on it. Anyway my question is the mounting clips that I received to put theese on with have little rubbers on about 18 of them and the rest of them don't... where do the ones with the rubbers on them go, or does it matter?, also am I supposed to have something between the door panel and the door... I rember takeing some off a 66 a long time ago, and there was some sealant holding on a peice of paper behind the door panel... is this correct or was it something the PO added?
thanks for looking!

On my 66s the deluxe door panels (pony)use the clips with the rubber on them and the standard door panels use the plain clips. I have used both and don't see much differance in function between the two. The paper that was stuck to the door is the watershield and would have been applied at the factory.

You do want to install the watershields. They prevent water from getting into the car interior and/or ruining the door panels from that large opening behind the door panel. They are very cheap and available from most suppliers. You'll need the sticky stuff also that holds them on.
