I have rebuilt drum brakes many time before but never have run into this situation before. I am hoping that someone on here has and can help.
There doesn't seem to be enough space on the pin where the springs attach to (at the top). This is where the spacer (for lack of a better term) and the loop for the cable that goes to the adjuster foot goes as well. When I put it all together (all new components), the last spring that goes on the post is barely on. Definitely not secure. It actually flew off a few time as I was working on it. I actually thought about possibly thinning the spacer a tad to get the spring to go on better. I only need about a 16th inch more clearance. Has anyone ever had this situation and if so what did you do to make more room?

Thanks,
Rick
