You guys have been so much of a help to me so far, I thought I'd try adding another question that's been bugging me for awhile. I bought a set of 351 W junior heads from World Castings for my 302. Turns out they lied to me on more than one note, but especially about the horsepower I'd be pulling. The selling point for these heads was that I'd be able to get 40 to 60 horses straight from the heads, with no other modifications. Naturally I jumped right on it..... but I found out later that they only claim 35 to 45 horses if I include oversized cam, edelbrock perfomer intake, 650 cfm carb, etc. Since it's my word against theirs, I'm stuck with these useless $1000.00 heads unless you guys might be able to convince me otherwise. I know you've probably had enough of the "horsepower" questions, but I need to ask anyway. With 302 running stock crank and rods, bored .030 over with flat top pistons, .484 lift cam, the infamous 351 W junior heads, roller tip rockers, edelbrock performer RPM intake, 750 cfm carb with spacer, long-tube headers (wrapped) and dual exhaust, 3.50 gear ratio, and no air conditioning or power steering........ what can I hope for in the area of horsepower??? I plan on installing turbo mufflers to increase backpressure as well as the pertronix ignition when I have the money. Right now she's running 18 inch cherrybombs and high performance coil with 8.8 mm. wires. Sounds cool, but it's not worth it if she's not pushing what I want outta her. Thanks for everyones help!!
