Offer him $225 shipped & you'll probably own it. Sure most fair buys near new is 1/2 Retail/Bought cost (like the devaluation driving a new car out the showroom) but carb looks pretty clean & there's not a lot that can go wrong with a near-new AFB/Ed carb apart from burnt out choke heater, compared to say a Holley 600 etc.
The 500cfm Emissions calibrated Carb is a nice size for ave streeter 260/289/302/5.0 .
Good luck.

$200 shipped? So, i would only get about $175 to $185 out of a $400 carb that’s only seen about 500 miles? I‘m already selling it at a little more than 30% off. At $200 shipped, I’ll be losing about 55% of what I have in it. If that’s all you’re willing to spend on a like new, bolt on and go carb, then perhaps you’d have more fun with a VERY well used one and rebuilding it to your specs.

I’m not desperate to sell this carb. I’d happily keep it for my Grandfather’s Chevelle that I’ll be restoring eventually.

As for clean up to look new, the throttle valves, choke plate, linkages and levers still shine. A quick wipe with some carb cleaner and it’ll be ready to hide under an air cleaner again.

Price is firm.
