My problem is I feel a bog/hesitation when I floor it/heavy acceleration but only initially, it hauls a** after that. I live in Denver (less air) so I leaned it out 2 stages in the jets and rods. Should I change the springs? If so, to what?

As suggested, Edelbrock's site has tons of good information about tuning. The springs could be the culprit, as could the setting on the accelerator pump.

Also, where you and I live, a phenolic carb spacer is highly recomended, as gasoline percolation and the resulting vapor lock are exaggerated at high altitude.
