OK... Some of you may remember that I was curious if my 65 amp Autolite alternator would handle the extra draw from the 1,100 CFM fan I installed yesterday.

At idle in Drive with the lights on, stereo on, and heater on, the alternator voltmeter showed about 12.4 volts. As soon as I stepped on the gas, even a little, I showed 12.9, then about 1,800 RPM, I showed 13.5. At 2,500 RPM, it showed 14.6.

Looks like it'll pass... For now.

Yup, it should!

I'll keep my eye on it. Oh, and my battery showed beautiful at 12.8 volts/750 CCA. Perfecto.

The only time I ever had a problem with my fastback and it's electric fan was one night when I ran all of the options you mention.....I'd spring for an upgrade for peace of mind.

I will definitely be upgrading the alternator, but remember guys, Governor DOOFUS just decided to TRIPLE my UC Davis fees, so I'm still reeling from that. I got screwed, because the contract I signed for my scholarship is not prograde, meaning any changes in tuition need to be covered by MOI.

Arrrgh.
