Hey everybody, I was just finishing up putting the 65 Coupe back together, which now has a 250 I6 mind you! :p. Anyways, I'm having a bit of a problem. I was putting the wiring back in the engine compartment, and I start her up, and notice the alt. light is on constantly. So, I take it down to autozone and have it tested, tested fine. The alternator has one more connection on it than the stock, I believe it has field, ground, battery, and stater. None of my front end lights work either. Anyone have any clue what's going on?

the stator is not connected with ammeter but is if you have idiot light. i have a Shop Manual connection diagram for my '68 showing both charging systems connection diagram which probably is like your '65. PM me and i can e-mail you the diagram. also, if you have voltmeter just measure battery terminal voltage to see if you have charging voltage. should be 13.5 to 14.5 Vs DC with car running.
