okay, so the car's reverse lights don't work, can anyone tell me where the switch for those are? i've tested the sockets with a volt mater but there's no power, which means it's got to be the switch, so can anyone tell me where i might find the switch?, it's a 3 speed manual trans

IIRC it is part of the neutral safety switch on the tranny. Hopefully someone will jump in and correct me if I'm wrong.

I suggest looking under the car at the shifter linkage right below where the shift lever comes up through the floor.

Having the same issue here on a '67 coupe 3 speed manual. The switch is suppose to be on the tranny near the linkage I was told. My veichle is missing the switch and the wiring was cut up on the engine side firewall. There are two black with green stripe wires coming from the connector which is suppose to go to the backup light switch. I've been needing a picture of the switch and location so I can "ghetto mod" a switch if possible. Good luck and post any info you can find.
