After reassembling my car from the winter's work, I have one little flaw. Neither the water temperature nor fuel guages are working. Is there a common connection anyone can think of that I might be missing? Tach works, which makes me think the connector to the cluster is fine. Both the fuel sender and water temp sender are connected.

Does the factory oil pressure guage work right? if not, I'd consider the instrument voltage regulator.

See if you are getting voltage at the guages from the wires that connect to them. If so, then the guages are bad. (You can also check the condition of the guages by using a 9 volt battery across the terminals to see if the hands move) If not, then either the wiring is bad, or the sending units are bad.

Check the "Ground" connection to that circuit. Mustangs had terrible problems with corroded groung connectoins. Will also cause dim dash lites too!
