I have a 1966 convertible with the deluxe Pony interior. I am redoing the seat covers and have a question about the originals. They were in good / great condition but the rear seat had the bottom edges rotted so replaced them (from the springs up) with all new burlap foam and wires. I was getting ready to do the front buckets but see the old covers have a brown vinyl where the "ponies" are embossed. the new ones use the same Emberglo as the rest of the seat. Is the brown (tricolor) the original / correct? Not too worried about it as this is a rest-o-mod, just wanting to know if it is original. I will attach a picture showing to old with the new on top of it. Many thanks! Mel

The original Ponies were a little darker than the repro stuff. I have some originals from one of my sons' cars, and while the seats are in overall very good condition, I like the newer color a little better and may replace them, and preserve the originals.
