@OneTireFire I gotta know, is there a story behind the Klaxon horn? I had a vacuum wolf whistle on my '54 for ever.
haha, there's probably a few stories! First of all, after having a nice visit with my parents a few weeks ago, my dad told me that it was the first accessory he ever bought for a car. It was for his 54' Pontiac Chieftain, which was his first car ever, that apparently he traded a guitar for it ( the car not the horn). The horn lived in that car for a while, then it spent many years jumping from one drag car to another during the mid 70's, as those were my dads racing days. It eventually ended up in the attic for several decades until we brought my Mustang home. After rummaging around in the attic my dad pulled it from the rubble and offered it to me. It's been getting laughs and smiles ever since! Here's what it sounds like!

Absolutely awesome! I put one of the el-cheapo oogah horns in my first car. Lots of looks when I would use the fob to lock the doors and that '99 Mercury Mystique went ooogah-oogah!

I used variety of wire wheels on my drill, and opted for a rattle can job. Not show quality, but far better than it was.

Here is my before and after. I made some mods along the way. Adding the cowel brace as well as converting to a custom 24" radiator.

Wow.... so many good pics to look at. Now I wonder if I should spend a bit more time on this little project. I'm trying to keep my 17 yr old son's interest at the same time so a tricky balance.

Show him the pictures? Might give him a reason to spend a little more time on it with you.

I just finished prepping the bay to stock-ish for my son's freshly rebuilt 289 and C4 to go in. The hood, fenders, etc all will be coming off for more body and paint work later on.

His shock tower/export brace appears to be a Global West unit, I have one that I need to install here at some point. AMK for fasteners, can also be had from NPD. kip

How much better is the GW than the export brace?
Seems like it takes up more space.
