Can anyone help me with this number off the block of an engine C6AE 6015C?
I have chance to pick this up for free. With the Tranny (auto). Thanks in advance.

289 block, 66, Windsor foundry. Interchangeable with the C6AE-6015-E block from the Cleveland foundry. Look for the WF in the lifter valley, instead of the big C with an F inside. this casting number was used from 66 into 67 production. How about a date code?

Thanks, not sure of the date code. I was talking to a vendor I use at work today, I told him I was restoring a 66 mustang, when he said "follow me" I figured he had a Mustang in the back of his truck shop. That's when he showed me the engine. He said it works fine and has the tranny that works as well. BEST of all he said "take it its's yours. Free no charge, gratus,etc.. Since he is a vendor and he needed to get it out of his shop I said well ok but only as a courtesy to you. ;)
