I've got a 64 1/2 with a 289. Does the engine have to
be grounded to the firewall? It's been about ten years
since I've drove my car. I put a new motor in it and don't
remember if that needs to be done. I've got a friend who
has a 64 Fairlane and he thought mine might need to have
this as well.

The engine grounding wire runs from the firewall near the heater motor and bolts to the back of the passenger side head.

If you have an A/T then the bolt that holds the tranny dipstick to the head is also used for the grounding wire.
