First when pulling the plugs I found that the plug firing the same cylinder #8 that the push rod had snapped and lifter shot out was dark. the rest were a light brown. So I did a compression check on #8 it looked to be around 140. So I did # 7 for a comp. It was the same. The eng was cold, with those big hookers its impossible not to get burned when hot. So as Russ guessed in previous post is it the Valve guide?
If so what would a repair cost? Ill pull it and take it to a machine shop. Just a guess will help. And why didnt it smoke when the push rod and lifter had been ejected?
Hey guys thanks for all the help, with out this support I may have driven it in the river!
