I went to change out my engine mounts today (68 289/302w), and the front and rear block bolts for the mounts appear to be different sizes. Also, the rear bolts dont hold any real presssure. I'm beginning to think that the threads may have been stripped.

Can anyone tell me what size and thread the bolts should be?

For the bolts on the block...they should be the same size. They should also have the "integrated washer" in the head, ie., the head has the flair look to it to double its function as a washer also. I'm pretty sure mine were 7/16" thread dia. x 1-1/4" long. 18 point threads. Also use thread locker on them since there is no lock washer. If your hole is stripped, try tapping some new threads in it. If not you may have to put a heli-coil in it. Good luck.
