hey guys i got a few questions i am rebuilding my 72 v8 302 its just a engine bearing that gave way but im just going to rebuild it anyways. i dont race or anything i just liek to have a lot of hp and torque so basically i guess the best street use u can get. I want to know what all this stuff is about compression ratio mine is 8.5 to 1 i have no idea what that means? i heard if u raise it it makes it better how is that and how do u raise it also what new stuff should i buy to raise hp that wont cost me big $$$$, i already have a edlebrock performer intake and a holley 600cfm carb and old headers but i need new ones? thank you

You'd need new pistons to raise compression. For a street car, you don't want to go above 10:1, because you will start pinging on pump gas. Anything higher, and you'd need to run additives!! Also, how about an electronic ignition for an upgrade?? Maybe a mild street cam, preferably roller?? Also roller rockers?? Hope this helps.

Dosent the cam make the car sound diferent if it dose how do se it make it sound?
