I'm going to throw out the weird idea here and say check your motor mounts. Specifically the driver's side.
Point the car in a clear direction
Open the hood
Start the car
Stand on the brakes
Rev the engine
Let out the clutch (you're standing on the brakes right?)
See if the engine rotates towards the passenger side shock tower.
If the motor mount is bad and the engine rotates it can mess with the throttle linkage and it can move loose or corroded wires so that they might stop making connection for a second.
This probably isn't your problem, I'd expect it to be worse taking off from a stop sign in first, but it's worth checking for such a strange combination of symptoms.
