Does anyone know of a good engine steam cleaner in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area? And, if I do this, will it disturb the original stickers throughout my engine block? I just got my car painted, and the engine is covered in leftover dust, etc. I just don't want anyone to scratch the fenders or harm the new paint. THANKS

South City Car wash is one of the very few places that do this. They are in South San Francisco. If you specify what you want I am sure they can do it. They were very easy to work with for me and did everything I asked. Steam cleaning will remove stickers from the engine bay if hit directly with steam.

Here is my car on the lift when I had the underside and engine bay done. Sorry about the image quality I only had my cell phone.

Where in the bay area are you located? There's one I know if San Jose that has a car hoist similar to the above pic. There is another in Redwood City which is a car detailer that has a steamer but the car remains on the ground.

In either case, I'd worry big time about the person or his hose (sounds wierd ::) rubbing against a newly painted fender. And yes these hard core sprayers can remove paint and stickers off your block. Remember these people are there to remove dirt and grime. If paint and stickers get in the way.....look out.

Here's my truck having it's belly cleaned up in San Jose. If you want the names of both San Jose and Redwood City, PM me.

I am in the East Bay. So I am looking for a reputable detailer anywhere in the Bay Area. I was just hoping to find someone that has actually done or specializes in classic cars and is trustworthy and careful.
