I just received a shipment of parts from a fellow VMFer. One of the parts I got was the Equalizer Bar Pivot (engine side). I went to install it and the hole I thought was used for this is not threaded in the block. Do I need to tap this hole or am I just an idiot and am using the wrong hole? This is on a 68 302 block which came out of a 69 auto car.
Not postive but think it should be threaded. Hole should be level with frame rail. If you want I can check a 69 302 that had an auto (c4). Its at my parents but I'll be there sunday.
Here is a PM response I received. I thought this should be shared with all in case this comes up again. Thanks Allen.
"Yes, you just 'tap' the hole. Ford knew which blocks were
going to be mated to A/T, so that allowed them to skip one
or two steps in the machining sequence."

Allen Cross
