I want to do a front disc brake conversion. Ideally, I would like to use period correct factory disc brakes. I've found a 68 Cougar donor car with factory disc brakes. Can the entire front brake assembly be swapped to my 68 Mustang? Looking at using the calipers, rotors, spindles etc. Also, did Ford use the same calipers on the 68 Galaxy as the 68 Mustang? I'm getting a 390fe out of the Galaxy and it also has front disc brakes. Thanks.

The '68 Cougar disc brake setup will transfer to your '68 Mustang. I don't know if the Galaxie calipers are the same as Cougar calipers or not. Go to any of the big box auto part chain's website (AA, AZ, O'R, etc) and see what the part number is for a '68 Cougar caliper and then go see what the part number is for a '68 Galaxie caliper. Are they the same number or not?

I think 68 disc cars also came with a different pedal box and pedal than drum cars. Different pedal ratio so you may need to swap and pull those parts as well if the are the same between the Mustang and Cougar.

You don't need to worry about the pedals. Verify that you have the correct master cylinder though.
