I recall reading that I could obtain the original invoice and build sheet on my Mustang, but can't remember where I saw it (it was before I bought my car). Also, is there any way to trace the line of title? I have a CA car. Could someone please post the info. Thanks

www.martiauto.com for the invoice info. I don't know about owner history.

I went to the tax collectors office to trace my 69 Mach. They even had photo-copies of the old hand written bills of sale from years past. It wasn't 100% complete (About a guzillion previous owners), but it helped.

Good Luck

A copy of the original invoice is available from:
Lois Eminger, PO Box 220, Dearborn, MI 48121-0220.
She has ONLY Dearborn 69, 70, 71, 72, 73 Mustangs and Metuchen 70 invoices. Cost is $35.00 and proof of ownership is required (copy of title or registration)

Thanks for the info, but my car is from San Jose. Anybody know what happened to the invoices on those cars?

Ford tossed the San Jose files into the local lanfill years ago. I have a suggestion. If your 69 has never been restored, try looking under the driver/passenger seat. Under the bottom, inside the spring webs you may find the original build sheet. Also look under the rear seat platform or even under the carpet. I found two copies of my build sheet under the driver seat and the carpet. The builds have come in handy every time I have to prove that early runs of 1970 Mach1's
did come with 351 Windsor 2 barrels. The car was built 13 days behind schedule in Oct of 1969. Too cool!

Much of the Calif records were distroyed years ago in Sacromanto. And others have provided you with how to get a copy of the original shipping invoice and records about your car.

Even though there were approx a dozen buildsheets made for your car few made of them ever made their way into San Jose cars. I've had my best lucj with sportroofs at finding them under the front section of carpet (floor to underlayment

Thanks for all the info. I'll start digging (literally) under my seats, etc.
