Anyone know if all California cars for '66 came with the tinted windshield band?

I'm getting a repro Marti window sticker and it wasn't listed as an option to check on their form that you fill out. However, all sticker examples I see online list it as a factory option.

My car came with the windshield tint, but otherwise had no other options besides the C code engine. I'm wondering if it was a standard thing on all San Jose cars or if I need to tell Marti to add it.

Terminology....

Tinted is the entire piece of glass. Shaded or Banded is the sun-shade, at the top. Tinted glass was not REQUIRED with Air Conditioning but highly recommended. I'd guess that unless it was a customer special order that dealers would include tinted glass with any car with A/C or for a warm climate. Tinted with a shaded band was a $30.25 option. Shaded alone on a clear windshield was a $21.09 option.

Your knowledge continues to amaze. You are kind of a walking and talking Mustang encyclopedia.

My car was optioned with it, but maybe that was part of the GT equipment group? I don’t know. But it is a California car (San Jose)

Ok sorry for the terminology lol.

Let me rephrase. Where shaded/banded windshields standard in California (or san jose cars)? I'm not talking tinted glass all the way around. Just the windshield.

I could swear I read that somewhere a long time ago.

I think I solved it. On the Marti form there is a pull down for window tint. In the pull down the options are tinted windshield or tinted all. I was looking for a separate box for the windshield. They make no differentiation for tinted or Banded windshield.

So, Ford offered an option of having only the windshield tinted and the rest of the glass clear?
I've been wondering how that would look. My car has a replacement all clear windshield, I am replacing it as I want the band at the top. I cannot find a clear glass with band so have ordered a tinted windshield with the band. (I'm told by this glass shop that an aftermarket windshield is not available that's clear with the band)
I'm replacing all the glass except for trying to save the rear window which is clear, Should I replace everything with tint or leave the windshield with tint and the rest clear?

My understanding is either the windshield had a tinted band or nothing. I took "Tinted all" to mean tinted windshield band AND tinted glass on the rest of the car (green glass).

As for your question it's up to you. I'd think replacing all the glass to factory tint would be really pricey if you don't already have it.
