I've thought about the possibility of making a plastic insert to to catch any water entering the cowl and routing it out the side drains. But as you'd still have to open up the cowl to insert this thing, you might as well do it right and weld in new metal and do what Ford neglected to do - paint/rustproof it.
All the effort to fix the cowl makes that plexiglass cowl cover look much more attractive to lots of people. Dickson
