Have been searching for a 65' or 66' mustang for the last two years and have final got one, picked it up yesterday drove it home on the freeway for two hour and I felt rigth at home. Here is the decoder:

model year: 1966
built at: San Jose (Milpitas, CA)
bodystyle: Hardtop
engine: 289 CID - 4V (premium fuel)
consecutive #: 182355
body series: Hardtop - standard-trim bench seat
scheduled assy.: April 06, 1966
exterior color: "Silver Frost"
interior trim: Black crinkle vinyl with "rosette"-pattern vinyl inserts
sales office (DSO): Los Angeles, CA ("LP")
axle ratio: 3.00:1 "conventional"
transmission: "C-4" automatic

Lovely car, still has the Califorina Black plates, never been off the road. History = Mother to Daughter to Hojiri (Japanese guy for the last 4 years) to me.
Everything is original the car is currently painted black (still can see original paint underneath)with a vinyl top, has the spare and jack, bench seat is in good shape just worn, back seat looks un-touched, A/C that does work (very cold), engine runs alittle rough needs tune-up.
Six years ago I had a 66' I6 which I loved driving but had to sell it because I was heading back to Australia for school, now I am back behind the wheel of a 66', I plan on keeping this car for a long time.
:) ;) :D

That's great. I glad that it was not a red one, it seems that everyone has a red classic mustang. Congats again, have fun with it.
