Finally got the motor put together after getting it back from the shop and took it back over to get a dyno. Took the orig 289 over a while back and he set it up to be a 331 stroker. Finally got it back in with him to get the dyno. After running 9 different set ups on it using various carb risers and breathers was able to get about 325 horsepower with the original iron heads with about 330 torque.

The beauty of that engine is that if down the road you want or need more, there's roughly another 100hp available from a cam and heads.

You can probably add about 5% to those Dynomite dyno numbers, they are usually pretty conservative when compared to other dynos.

Very solid numbers and nice torque curve on it. Nothing to complain about there.
