Although it isn't done yet I still wanted to let everyone know what it is I am working on. The next stage is paint and then I can actually take it out of the garage and drive it a little.

looks good, im bout to clone a 67. is your hood scoop functional¿ cuz it looks closed off in the pic, just curious.
im also about to paint my 66 coupe but all the body work seems to be rusting around the edges through the primer, i used "all metal" instead of bondo. i hope its better. im so frustrated, any suggestions. do u think the paint will seal it off good enough to prevent the suface rust. wish i had more time, but its my daily driver and id like to get it painted. sorry for the long reply.

The scoop is closed off but it will be made functional when I finish the body. This is almost the exact condition that I bought the car. The PO had done all the body work and I got to do some work on the motor, upgraded to 3.55 Traction lock. I am thinking about going to a Metallic blue with silver LeMans Stripes. I am stil very unsure about it. I do really like that opal frost color, very nice.

shutupandrive, the paint won't seal the rust it will work its way through if it has surface rust sand it down and use duplicolor primer/fillerthis will hold up a bit longer than normal primer water penetrates primer so it can rust under primer which causes big problems so try to catch it now before it gets to deep. Primer paints don't seal out moisture. They just provide the "bite" for the finish paint to stick to. It shouldn't rust there with a top coat of paint.
