Right now I have a 66 coupe with a 200 6 cylinder and I was wondering how difficult it would be to find a used 289 engine to replace the one I have. Is it difficult or costly to have a 289 installed? Where should I look to find this engine?

One of the most talked about subjects here....use our search engine to find relevant posts...

Here's one recent thread on the subject....

IMO, rustbucket V8 parts car is the best way to go....figure around 2K for the car and incidentals....offset by selling off the unwanted stuff out of the parts car and the inliner stuff you no longer need...

Recommend viewing a65ragtop's VMF FAQ site. It's loaded with good information and feedback from past threads on the old VMF.

Like Pat says expect to pay around 2K for the complete swap. I had a V8 donor but still manage to spend over 3K - 'course the V8 was a manual and the kludged I6 to V8 was done as an automatic...
