hey guys i have a question. on my drivers side there is liek this big crak but theres not muxh rust around it it is under the pedals. My question is can i take a piece of sheet metal and just bolt it into the floor or dose it have to be welded????

The first thing I would do is figure out what caused the crack make sure something else doesn't need repairing first. I would weld it if it were mine this would seal it up much better and be stronger. IMHO

Be best to weld it, but if worst comes to worst you could clean it up real well, put some rust preventer on it, and pop rivet a plate down... Your best bet is welding though, try finding someone you know w/ a welder or go to an exhaust shop and have them weld it up for you, if its just a crack it shouldn't be that hard to do.
