Do I need to get a different bell housing to make this work, or will it just bolt up?

Also, verify the torque converter bolt pattern is correct...

The FMX should fit the tunnels of the early Mustangs (pre 67) and definitely will fit the tunnel of your 67...

Also, depending on where the FMX came from, you might need to verify the shift linkage/kickdown attachments as well...

Personally, the only reason I'd run a FMX is if I had one in good shape for free or cheap and needed to get the vehicle going....C4's are much more weight and HP efficient and parts are more common as well.....

Good luck!

Hi Ed,

I guess you have a C4 with your 289.
I had an FMX with my '68 302.
Here is a list of parts I changed from FMX to C4:
- bellhousing and cover
- flywheel (FMX flywheel is bigger than C4)
- crossmember
- 11" torque converter

I am sure you need the same parts to change from C4 to FMX.
