I replaced the fuel sending unit on my '65. Ever since, it only reads 1/2 full even though it is completely full. Does anyone know how to correct this problem? I would like to know what the ohmmeter should read for empty,1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full. Can you help?

Also check the resistance between the gauge and the the sender. It should be zero or close to zero. I have the same problem as you, and I know the problem is too much resistance in my harness.

More likely a bad connector! Use a drill bit with fine steel wool wrapped on the tip then clean the male and female connectors. Use a battery powered drill motor and spin the steel wool inside the connectors. This will clean 35 years of corrosion out of the connectors and reduce the resistance to near zero.
