I replaced mine and there is a trick to getting them out. If you look closer at the clips, they appear to be two solid metal roll next to each other. Slip a standard screw driver between the rolls and twist until the two rolls separate. Now, open them (space between the rolls) maximally...as you do this the clips are disengaging on the inside. Afer you take one out and study it you will appreciate how to replace them. Just push it in again and use pliers to crimp the rolls togethere again.
ps. use some silacone and just smeear it all around the hole/clips to weather proof it.
